Just read about this mobile woodshop. I think this is a great idea to keep kids engage and keep interest in the trade alive in the younger generation. This is a great idea.

Welcome to Willie’s Woodshop

Since 1985,  Stephen Willner (Willie) has been working in a  classroom and credentialed by state of California , teaching basic woodworking skills to  children. He is now moving to his classroom to a converted  bus which accommodates  ten workbenches that are designed to fit children.

Any time and any money you spend so your child can participate in a real life hands-on activity such as working with wood and hand tools  can provide is worth it!  The benefits are cumulative and can last a lifetime.

Classes are held in my woodshop classroom (converted bus) at various public and private Sacramento schools, I facilitate Scout badge work, birthday parties for children 5-14 and am a vendor for summer day camps.

Children are drawn to the sounds of sawing and hammering and I am fortunate to share this exciting and productive experience with them.
